We hope that you will consider us for your orthodontic needs!
Ceramic (clear) braces are made of a translucent ceramic material which blends with your teeth and will resist staining and discoloration throughout your treatment. With the newer small, low-profile design of our Ceramic Braces, they are virtually unnoticeable, making them perfect for patients of any age who are looking for the confidence and freedom to smile on any occasion. Ceramic braces continue to be esthetic and more versatile than ever before. Colored “elastic” ties can still be used on ceramic braces to give a vibrant showing of color or Clear “elastic” ties can also be used when the patient prefers the braces to be less noticeable. While they are visually less prominent, they are also smaller than metal braces and can be used on both the top and bottom teeth as well.
At South Alabama Orthodontics, we let you decide what type of braces would suit you best. Some of our patients like to “show off their smile” with the metal victory series bracket from 3M Unitek. This traditional type of bracket is made of high-grade stainless steel. Our patients comfort and choice is one of our main concerns.
Clarity Aligners gradually move your teeth – but without any metal wires or braces. Clarity Aligners treatment uses a system of removable, nearly invisible plastic trays designed to help guide your teeth into the ideal position and get the beautiful, healthy smile you want.
Treatment using Clarity Aligners starts with a custom, digital treatment plan that shows you exactly how your teeth will move and how long it will take to reshape your smile. You will get a series of clear aligners that should be worn for about one to two weeks each—depending on your custom treatment plan. It is recommended aligners be worn 22 hours a day, or as prescribed by your provider. The clear aligners are nearly invisible so you can go through your treatment and look good doing it.
Clarity Aligners let you put your lifestyle first. Unlike with clear or metal braces, you can remove Clarity Aligners when you want to eat or drink, brush or floss your teeth. These clear aligners are as flexible as you are.
Lingual (invisible) braces are hidden behind the teeth and are therefore “invisible” when you smile. Lingual braces are 100% customized to match the shape of your teeth and therefore created uniquely for you. Lingual braces are a very reasonable option for athletes, models, actors/actresses, musicians who play wind instruments, and adult professionals.
Lasers are used in orthodontic treatment for a variety of conditions. They can be used to remove excess or overgrown gingival tissue, exposure of impacted canines, or frenectomies. Lasers use a special wavelength of light to remove the excess tissue without scaring or bleeding. The use of lasers helps to dramatically increase the esthetics of orthodontic treatment when indicated.
Temporary anchorage devices, or TADs, are small titanium anchors used in certain orthodontic cases to help achieve tooth movement with more efficiency and comfort. TADs are used in addition to braces to help better control tooth movement. TADs also allow us to successfully treat many cases without the use of orthognathic surgery.
